Softball Recap: Forreston Gets the Win

Forreston took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Polo, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Forreston Cardinals had just enough and edged out the Polo Marcos 4-2. This was payback for the Cardinals, who suffered a 17-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Aubrey Sanders made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Sanders was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Ayla Kiper was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2. McKenna Rummel was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

The victory made it two in a row for Forreston and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Forreston Cardinals take on Byron Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Polo, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Lena-Winslow at 11:00 a.m.
