Baseball Game Preview: Marshall Mavericks vs. Hallsville Bobcats

Marshall is 2-8 against Hallsville since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Marshall Mavericks will head out on the road to challenge the Hallsville Bobcats at 2:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Marshall is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 16-2 margin over Tyler on Friday. The Mavericks haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Hallsville took on Texas on Tuesday. Hallsville skirted past Texas 6-4.

Marshall's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Hallsville, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Marshall skirted past Hallsville 4-3 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marshall since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
