Softball Recap: Midland Timberwolves vs. Putnam County Panthers

Midland won against Putnam County on Tuesday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Timberwolves had just enough and edged out the Panthers 5-4. The win was nothing new for the Timberwolves as they're now sitting on three straight.
Adalynn Stickel (2027) spent all 13 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks.
On the hitting side, Sophia Coccia (2026) was incredible, getting on base in all six of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Loeser (2029), who went 2-for-6 with two RBI and one double.
Midland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Midland's record is now 4-6. As for Putnam County, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7.
