Softball Recap: Cordova Takes a Loss

Cordova lost against Northside back in May of 2017, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cordova Blue Devils came up short against the Northside Rams, falling 12-2. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shelby Black was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double. That double was her first of the season.

Even though they lost, Cordova hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in seven consecutive matchups.

Cordova's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Northside, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4-1 record this season.

Cordova will take on Winfield at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Northside, they will host Cordova at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
