Basketball Game Preview: Independence Wildcats vs. Lewisburg Patriots

Independence and Lewisburg are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Independence comes in on five and Lewisburg on three.

Independence will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Hernando, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Wildcats skirted past the Tigers 63-61.

Meanwhile, Lewisburg sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 win over Center Hill on Tuesday.

Independence's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Lewisburg, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Independence skirted past Lewisburg 55-52 in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
