Softball Preview: Saegertown Panthers vs. Cochranton Cardinals

Saegertown is 9-1 against Cochranton since April of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. Saegertown stacked a fourth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They never let Iroquois onto the board and left with a 10-0 win.

Meanwhile, Cochranton sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over Iroquois last Tuesday.

The result came thanks to Brooklyn Needler's shutout, as she gave up just six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Cochranton's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jaidin Frayer, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Danielle Hoffman, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Saegertown's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Cochranton, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
