Baseball Recap: Mosley Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Mosley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Sequoyah Chiefs.

Mosley got a great performance from Chase Wood as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over 4.1 innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Wood a new career-high.

At the plate, Mosley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Lee, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Lee a new career-high. Another was Reed Kyle, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Mosley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in three consecutive matchups.

Mosley's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for Sequoyah, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Mosley will welcome Rutherford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sequoyah, they will head out to square off against Bozeman at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bozeman's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Sequoyah's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
