Baseball Recap: Six Straight Road Wins for Danville

While Danville didn't have the best season last year (they finished 14-23), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Casey County Rebels 10-2 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Admirals, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Fox Spears made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Spears was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hayden Foster, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was KJ Dismeaux, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Danville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.

Danville's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Casey County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Danville will square off against Woodford County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Casey County, they will face off against Barbourville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
