Preview: Pamlico County Hurricanes vs. Southside Seahawks

The Pamlico County Hurricanes will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Southside Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Pamlico County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Thursday.

Pamlico County was handed a three-point defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Jones last Thursday. Pamlico County breezed by Jones on the road to the tune of 52-19. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Pamlico County had established a 27 point advantage.

Pamlico County found their leader in underclassman Nya Clark, who scored 24 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Clark has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kyliyah Barber, who scored eight points along with eight steals.

Meanwhile, Southside stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Lejeune 63-38. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Southside has posted since December 5, 2023.

Pamlico County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-10 record this season. As for Southside, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-5.

Pamlico County ended up a good deal behind Southside when the teams last played back in January of 2023, losing 54-37. Thankfully for Pamlico County, Ka'Nyah O'Neal (who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
