Softball Recap: Deridder Finds Home Field Redemption Against Washington-Marion

There's no place like home for DeRidder, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against the Washington-Marion Charging Indians on Tuesday as they made off with a 10-1 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 22-3 back in March.

Madilynn Jenkins was a standout: she got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Kamoree Childs was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

DeRidder always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

DeRidder's victory bumped their record up to 13-16. As for Washington-Marion, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.

DeRidder has already played their next contest, an 11-1 win against Florien on the 10th. Washington-Marion has also already played their next game (against Northside), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
