Basketball Recap: Ingrid Lorton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Centaurus over Horizon

On Friday, the Centaurus Warriors came up short against the Horizon Hawks and fell 47-36. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ingrid Lorton, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 18 points and eight rebounds. Lorton is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Rose Pacheco was another key player, putting up eight points and five steals.

Horizon's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaitlin Schumann, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 13 boards. Another player making a difference was Genia Harris, who posted 14 points.

Centaurus' defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Horizon, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-8.

Centaurus wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 64-28 loss against Mead on the 11th. As for Horizon, they have also already played their next game, a 51-50 defeat against Frederick on the 11th.
