Ragsdale has gone 8-2 against Western Guilford recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Ragsdale Tigers will look to defend their home court against the Western Guilford Hornets at 7:30 p.m. Ragsdale has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 11.

Ragsdale is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Northwest Guilford on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Ragsdale came up short against Northwest Guilford, falling 62-36. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 570th, while the Vikings are ranked 141st).

Meanwhile, Western Guilford and Southeast Guilford faced off in a cross-town battle on Wednesday. Western Guilford took down Southeast Guilford 59-43. The Hornets pushed the score to 51-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons cut but never quite recovered from.

Western Guilford's win came from a few key players Ragsdale will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Seth Harris, who posted 12 points. Simeon Libby was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Western Guilford's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Ragsdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.

Ragsdale couldn't quite finish off Western Guilford in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 62-59. Can Ragsdale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
