Basketball Recap: Perkins County Beats Holyoke for Their Third Straight Victory

Perkins County waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Holyoke Dragons 45-25. The score was all tied up 11-11 at the break, but the Plainsmen were the (much) better team in the second half.

Perkins County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Madison Potts out in front who posted 14 points and five steals. With that strong performance, Potts is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Ella Homan, who went 5 for 9 en route to 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why Holyoke lost, don't look at Anessa Colglazier. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Colglazier has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Perkins County's record is now 7-9. As for Holyoke, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Perkins County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 63-18 defeat against Sedgwick County on the 30th. As for Holyoke, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-24 loss against Chase County on the 30th.
