Basketball Recap: Center Place Takes a Loss

Center Place was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 32-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Heartland Mustangs. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Golden Eagles came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 195th, while the Mustangs are ranked 422nd).

Leading Heartland to victory were Savannah Vazquez and Elizabeth Archibald. Vazquez dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds, while Archibald went 5 for 12 en route to 12 points and five boards. Those 15 rebounds gave Vazquez a new career-high.

Center Place's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Heartland, their record now sits at 6-9.

Center Place has already played their next matchup (against Overland Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Heartland has already played their next game, a 57-29 loss against Clinton Christian Academy on the 20th.
