Baseball Recap: Milton-Union Takes a Loss

Milton-Union fell victim to Covington and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Buccs by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Karson Stone spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

At the plate, Milton-Union saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wesley Schommer, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Milton-Union's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7. As for Covington, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milton-Union will face off against Northridge at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Covington, they will take on Lehman Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
