Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for North Medford

North Medford hadn't done well against Grants Pass recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The North Medford Black Tornado came out on top against the Grants Pass Cavemen by a score of 45-33. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Black Tornado's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Cavemen are ranked 22nd).

North Medford is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-12 record this season. Grants Pass dropped their record down to 16-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coincidentally, North Medford and Grants Pass will both be playing Willamette the next time they take the court. North Medford will head out to face Willamette at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Grants Pass will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
