Sulphur had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.9 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They strolled past the New Iberia Yellowjackets with points to spare, taking the game 51-37. Given the Golden Tors' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 141st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sulphur's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points over those games. As for New Iberia, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-15.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sulphur will host Southside at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Iberia, they will be playing at home against Barbe at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
