Baseball Recap: Midway Takes a Loss

Midway lost against Wartburg Central last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Green Wave lost 11-4 to the Bulldogs. The Green Wave have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dawson Buckner made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Midway's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 2-1 (and 6-12-1 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jett Ingram, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Midway's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13-1. As for Wartburg Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Midway will square off against William Blount at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wartburg Central, they will take on York Institute at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
