Baseball Recap: Garner-Hayfield/Ventura Sets Scoring Season-High Against Clear Lake

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Garner-Hayfield/Ventura). They put the hurt on the Clear Lake Lions with a sharp 12-5 victory on Thursday. This was payback for the Cardinals, who suffered a 14-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Garner-Hayfield/Ventura is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Clear Lake, they dropped their record down to 6-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Garner-Hayfield/Ventura wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-2 victory against North Union on the 13th. As for Clear Lake, they will head out to challenge Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
