Recap: Layton Lancers vs. Weber Warriors

Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 18 to 9 on the offensive boards, a fact the Layton Lancers proved on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 61-45 victory over Weber. That's two games straight that Layton has won by exactly 16 points.

Oakley Homer was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Potter, who scored 12 points.

Despite the loss, Weber still got an impressive performance from Logyn Howell, who scored 14 points along with two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Howell has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Arbon, who scored eight points.

The win makes it two in a row for Layton and bumps their season record up to 7-10. As for Weber, their loss was their 12th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11.

Layton will face off against Fremont at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Fremont is ranked 45th, while Layton is ranked 60th). As for Weber, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Davis at 5:15 p.m. Hopefully Davis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
