Cave Spring is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 47 points two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Pulaski County on Friday. They took a 26-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The Knights have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Blacksburg after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Salem who ended up claiming the real prize. The Bruins fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 18-16. The matchup marked the Bruins' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Cave Spring's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Blacksburg, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Things could have been worse for Cave Spring, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 27-13 loss to Blacksburg in their previous meeting back in September of 2024.
