Baseball Game Preview: Connellsville Falcons vs. Baldwin Highlanders

For the second straight game, Connellsville will face off against Baldwin. The Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Highlanders at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Connellsville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Connellsville fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Baldwin on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Highlanders by a score of 5-3. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ethan Porreca put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Porreca was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Porreca wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gradin Hodge, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Baldwin now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Connellsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
