Volleyball Recap: Carter-Riverside Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Carter-Riverside and Southwest, and Southwest kept the tradition alive. The Eagles lost 3-0 to the Raiders on Tuesday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Carter-Riverside was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22, 25-18.

Southwest can attribute much of their success to Shiloh Robinson, who had 14 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Robinson has posted since back in October of 2024.

Carter-Riverside's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-14-1. As for Southwest, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8-1 record this season.

Carter-Riverside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Western Hills on the 19th. As for Southwest, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Dunbar on the 19th.
