Basketball Recap: Westbrook Comes Up Short

Westbrook lost against Falmouth back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Westbrook Blue Blazes took a 60-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falmouth Navigators. While losing is never fun, the Blue Blazes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Navigators are ranked 17th).

Westbrook's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-8. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only four points. As for Falmouth, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westbrook will host Gray-New Gloucester at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Falmouth, they will face off against Noble at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Noble will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Falmouth surely won't give up without a fight.
