Basketball Recap: Crater Takes a Loss

After flying high against Eagle Point last Tuesday, Crater came back down to earth. The Crater Comets came up short against the Churchill Lancers on Friday, falling 69-44. The contest marked the Comets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Churchill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ty Read out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Trayshawn Wright, who posted eight points and eight assists.

Crater has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Churchill, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crater will welcome Springfield at 5:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Churchill, they will face off against Thurston at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Churchill's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups.
