Miami Springs suffers fifth straight loss on the road

Recap: Miami Springs Golden Hawks vs. American Patriots

This season hasn't been kind to the Miami Springs Golden Hawks, who are still winless after their 12th match. They took a serious blow against American on Tuesday, falling 86-34. While losing is never fun, Miami Springs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 752nd, while American is ranked 225th).

Leading American to victory were Angel Torres and Alexandre Brigitte. Torres scored 13 points along with five steals, while Brigitte scored 19 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brigitte has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Omar Baqai, who scored 12 points along with two steals.

Miami Springs bumped their record down to 0-12 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for American, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.

Miami Springs will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Edison at 7:30 p.m. Edison comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for American, they will head out on the road to take on Dr. Krop at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
