Baseball Game Preview: Wahkiakum Mules vs. Ocosta Wildcats

The Wahkiakum Mules will challenge the Ocosta Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Wahkiakum will be strutting in after a win while Ocosta will be coming in after a loss.

Last Monday, Wahkiakum made easy work of Raymond/South Bend and carried off a 13-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mules.

Parker Leitz was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs but no hits. Leitz was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cooper Carlson, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston West, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Wahkiakum hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Raymond/South Bend struck out 11 times.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Ocosta was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They lost 15-2 to Pe Ell/Willapa Valley. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with Pe Ell/Willapa Valley recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Ocosta's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Wahkiakum, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
