Baseball Recap: Marysville-Pilchuck Gets the Win

Marysville-Pilchuck posted their closest win since April 2, 2024 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Mariner Marauders.

Logan Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryker Stewart, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jake Skarwecki, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Marysville-Pilchuck's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-18. As for Mariner, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

As of now, neither Marysville-Pilchuck nor the Marauders have any future games scheduled.
