Basketball Recap: Landmark Christian Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

After losing to Athens Christian the last time they met, Landmark Christian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Landmark Christian War Eagles walked away with a 74-67 win over the Athens Christian Eagles on Saturday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the War Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Eagles are ranked 101st).

The win was the fourth in a row for Landmark Christian, bringing their record for this year to 7-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.8 points per game. As for Athens Christian, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-3.

Landmark Christian will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against St. Francis at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Athens Christian and Bleckley County will round out the year against one another at at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
