Recap: Joliet West Tigers vs. Lockport Porters
The Joliet West Tigers were the 54-43 winner over the Lockport Porters when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Joliet West fell 57-48 to Lockport on Thursday. Joliet West has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Joliet West lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Makayla Chism, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maziah Shelton, who scored 14 points.
Joliet West's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Lockport, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.
Joliet West won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lane Tech at 1:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Lane Tech is ranked 158th, while Joliet West is ranked 183rd). Lockport is on the road again on Friday and play against Prospect at 4:15 p.m. on December 29, 2023.
