Softball Game Preview: Clearwater Tornadoes vs. Osceola Warriors

Clearwater is 0-10 against Osceola since March of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Tornadoes will challenge the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Clearwater is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Gulf 4-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tornadoes.

The team relied heavily on Madelyn Conner, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Osceola got the win against Zephyrhills on Wednesday by a conclusive 16-1. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Ava Inman looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bella Carter was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Angelina Rodriguez, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.

Osceola was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .560. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Clearwater's record is now 11-13. As for Osceola, their record now sits at 18-4.
