Bellbrook has won three straight games at home, while Badin has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Golden Eagles will welcome the Rams at 5:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Bellbrook 3.5, Badin 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Bellbrook fell victim to Miami East and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. The Golden Eagles' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Meanwhile, Badin made easy work of Archbishop McNicholas on Wednesday and carried off a 12-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won 13 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Kendall P. made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. P. was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Mattie Canupp was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Erica Kuhnash was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Badin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Archbishop McNicholas only posted an OBP of .217.
Badin's win bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Bellbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.
Bellbrook was able to grind out a solid victory over Badin in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, winning 6-3. Will the Golden Eagles repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
