Bayside falls despite strong effort from Jessie Ware

Recap: Bayside Marlins vs. Lake Taylor Titans

The Bayside Marlins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake Taylor. While losing is never fun, Bayside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Lake Taylor is ranked 39th).

When it comes to explaining why Bayside lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jessie Ware. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points along with three steals. Ware is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Micala Poe, who scored 20 points.

Bayside's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Lake Taylor, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
