Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Clay-Battelle

Clay-Battelle took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Cameron, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cee-Bees narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Dragons 2-1. While the Cee-Bees didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The team relied heavily on Ryan Parker, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Alex Danser also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The victory (which was Clay-Battelle's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Cameron, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Coming up, Clay-Battelle will be playing at home against Magnolia at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cameron, they will head out on the road to take on Midland Trail at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
