Recap: Kings Mountain Mountaineers vs. North Gaston Wildcats
The Kings Mountain Mountaineers stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past North Gaston 89-44 at home. The victory was familiar territory for Kings Mountain who now have four in a row.
Kings Mountain found their leader in underclassman Bradley Floyd, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Floyd has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last nine times he's played. Kee'donn Linney was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why North Gaston lost, one person who can't be blamed is Markell Carothers. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jurnee Lattimore, who scored eight points.
Kings Mountain has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for North Gaston, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.
