 On Monday, the Pinellas Park Patriots were able to grind out a solid  win over the Owensboro Red Devils, taking the game  8-5.
  Dane Merryweather made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Merryweather was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Seth Anderson was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.  Colby Redding was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
 Pinellas Park has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests,  which provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record  this season. As for Owensboro, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
 Pinellas Park will head out on the road to  take on  Bell Creek Academy at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Owensboro, they will challenge Archbishop McNicholas at 9:00  a.m.  on Tuesday. Owensboro's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4  runs per game  this season, so Archbishop McNicholas' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
