Basketball Recap: Smithfield Comes Up Short

Smithfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 59-52 to the Mt. Pleasant Kilties. The Sentinels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Kilties apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Smithfield's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Mt. Pleasant, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Smithfield will challenge Bishop Hendricken on Tuesday. As for Mt. Pleasant, they will venture away from home to square off against Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
