Baseball Recap: Houston Christian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cypress Christian last Friday, Houston Christian came back down to earth. The Houston Christian Mustangs took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marshall Academy Patriots on Tuesday.

Jeb Burkhart made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Thomas Frank, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Houston Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. Marshall Academy now has a winning record of 7-6.

Looking ahead, Houston Christian will challenge Needville at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th. As for Marshall Academy, they will take on West Point at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
