Baseball Game Preview: Northwest Cabarrus Trojans vs. Mount Pleasant Tigers

The Northwest Cabarrus Trojans will take on the Mount Pleasant Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northwest Cabarrus will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Northwest Cabarrus came up short against Concord on Tuesday, falling 11-5.

Ben Able made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season.

Mount Pleasant couldn't beat Carson on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Tigers fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 7-5. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost five in a row.

Mount Pleasant's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

Northwest Cabarrus was able to grind out a solid victory over Mount Pleasant in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 6-2. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
