Union County and University Christian are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2022, but likely not for long. The Union County Fightin' Tigers will host the University Christian Christians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams were dealt some close losses in their previous games and are determined not to let this one get away.

Union County is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Oakleaf just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Fightin' Tigers have suffered since April 22, 2024.

Erick Lasseter was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. JAKE WALKER was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, University Christian was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They fell just short of Providence School by a score of 3-1. The game marked the Christians' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

University Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Union County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Union County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like University Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Union County couldn't quite finish off University Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 2-0. Can Union County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
