Softball Recap: Robertson Cardinals vs. Santa Fe Indian Braves

Robertson blew Santa Fe Indian out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Santa Fe Indian got their revenge. The Cardinals fell just short of the Braves by a score of 4-2. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Ariana Sanchez put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Kylee Griego made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. She also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season.
