Football Game Preview: Garden Plain Owls vs. Clearwater Indians + How To Watch

The Garden Plain Owls will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Clearwater Indians at 7:00 p.m. Garden Plain will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Garden Plain is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Douglass to the tune of 49-0 on Friday. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Owls just coasted through the last quarter.

Garden Plain's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eli Eck led the charge by rushing for 68 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries, while also throwing for 19 yards and one touchdown. Eck's longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another back making a difference was Emrick Hays, who rushed for 127 yards and one score on only ten carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Garden Plain was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 318 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 293 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Braylen Dold, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Clearwater played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 42-13 loss at the hands of Pratt. The Indians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

Garden Plain's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Clearwater, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Everything came up roses for Garden Plain against Clearwater when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 35-7 win. Will the Owls repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
