Basketball Game Preview: Mayde Creek Rams vs. Jordan Warriors

Two dominant guards in Christian Gibson and Jaden Holt are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Mayde Creek Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Jordan Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mayde Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Jordan likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Mayde Creek earned a 76-63 win over Katy Taylor. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Mustangs are ranked 624th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mayde Creek's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamal Chretien II, who posted 19 points and five rebounds. Chretien II continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gibson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 boards.

Meanwhile, Jordan came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 68-53 victory over the Falcons.

Jordan pushed their record up to 29-3 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points over those games. As for Mayde Creek, they now have a winning record of 15-14.
