Baseball Game Preview: Edwards County Lions vs. Wayne City Indians

Edwards County is 6-1 against Wayne City since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Edwards County Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Wayne City Indians at 4:00 p.m. Edwards County will be strutting in after a win while Wayne City will be coming in after a loss.

Edwards County's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine as Edwards County made off with a 15-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Cash Conner was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rocky Bell, who scored two runs and stole Two bases.

Meanwhile, Wayne City had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine by a score of 6-5 on Monday.

Edwards County took their win against Wayne City when the teams last played back in May of 2021 by a conclusive 14-1. Does Edwards County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wayne City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
