Softball Recap: Brocton Bulldogs vs. Randolph Cardinals

Brocton extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-9 in the process. They came up short against the Randolph Cardinals, falling 13-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 back in April.

As for Randolph, their win bumped their record up to 6-8. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Randolph's part, Aliza Hind made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Hind has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three runs.

In other batting news, Sadie S.Steward was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Quinn Pence was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
