Baseball Recap: Damonte Ranch Has No Trouble Against Carson

With a playoff win on the line, Damonte Ranch rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Carson Senators 9-3. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Senators back in April, they had to take a 4-3 defeat.

Anthony Santiago looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Damonte Ranch let RJ Moffett and Nick Armstrong run wild. Moffett went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double, while Armstrong went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave Armstrong a new career-high. Dalton Millsaps also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Damonte Ranch's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-16. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Carson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 15 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-23 record this season.

Damonte Ranch will challenge Bishop Manogue at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Miners will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. Carson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
