Recap: John Carroll Catholic Cavaliers vs. Wenonah Dragons
Even though The Wenonah Dragons scored an imposing 35 points on Friday, the John Carroll Catholic Cavaliers still came out on top. John Carroll Catholic enjoyed a cozy 49-35 win over Wenonah. The win made it back-to-back wins for John Carroll Catholic.
When it comes to explaining why Wenonah lost, one person who can't be blamed is Anthony Young. Despite the final result, he rushed for 87 yards on only seven carries, and also threw for 193 yards and two touchdowns on only 18 passes. Young was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Demarcus Johnson, who picked up 105 receiving yards and a touchdown.
John Carroll Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Wenonah, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 6-4.
John Carroll Catholic will be playing at home against Maplesville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Maplesville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while John Carroll Catholic is ranked 61st). Wenonah does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
