Basketball Recap: North Miami's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

North Miami won the last time they faced Caston, and Kayden Donaldson did her part to make sure it happened again. The North Miami Warriors walked away with a 48-36 win over the Caston Comets on Thursday thanks in part to Donaldson, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards. She has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last ten times she's played.

Despite the defeat, Caston saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Madisyn Douglass dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. That was a full 44.4% of Caston's points, marking the 17th time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Camila Hernandez-Rios, who scored five points.

North Miami moved to 12-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Caston, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-13.

North Miami will be playing at home against Wabash at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Wabash will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something North Miami surely won't give up without a fight. As for Caston, they are taking a road trip to square off against Carroll at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
