Merrimack Valley put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 71-53 victory over the ConVal Cougars. Given the The Pride's advantage in MaxPreps' New Hampshire basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Cougars are ranked 63rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Merrimack Valley pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for ConVal, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Merrimack Valley will square off against Pelham at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pelham knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Merrimack Valley likes a good challenge. ConVal has already played their next match (against Hanover), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
