Volleyball Recap: Denmark Victorious

Denmark had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Wautoma Hornets. The Vikings were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Hornets, so the Vikings were just returning the favor.

Addison Kane was nothing short of spectacular: she had 11 digs and six aces. Those six aces gave her a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Denmark was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive games dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Wautoma still got an impressive performance from Laynie Vaughan, who had ten blocks and four digs. Vaughan is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now had two or more in each of the last ten games she's played dating back to last season.

Denmark has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Plymouth on the 26th. As for Wautoma, they will be taking part in a tournament against St. Mary Catholic at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
